Nuad Boran: also known as Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient healing therapy, handed down from teacher to pupil since the third century BC.
It is a dynamic bodywork therapy in which the practitioner uses hands, feet, elbows and knees to apply pressure along the bodies energy (sen) lines and pressure points. This, combined with Yoga stretches releases blocked energy and restores balance and harmony in the body.
Traditional Thai Massage (TTM) is also strongly linked with Buddhism and is practiced with meditation and positive energy and is said to be "the physical application of loving kindness"
Both the recipient and the Practitioner wear loose, comfortable clothing and a Traditional style massage takes place on a padded mat on the floor and begins with a Thai foot massage and then works up through the entire body finishing with a relaxing head massage.
